Built for a co-living space competing with boutique hotels, this site uses near-black backgrounds, amber (#F5A623) accents, and a custom cursor to signal premium without the price tag. The drag carousel for room photos and word-by-word hero animation are technically simple but create an experience most agencies charge five figures for. The challenge was making a hostel feel like a destination.
The brief was implicit: make a plumber look as credible as a lawyer. Bebas Neue headings and safety orange (#f97316) applied with the visual discipline of a luxury brand. Eleven full-bleed sections with animated counters (15 years, 847 jobs, 24/7) that trigger on scroll. The white-and-black-and-orange palette is borrowed from industrial signage — the language of work that gets done.
Near-black (#0d0b09) with parchment (#e8dcc8) text and terracotta (#b85c38) accents — the exact palette of Roman architectural photography. Playfair Display headings feel like a handwritten menu. The grain texture overlay on the hero adds physical warmth to what would otherwise be a flat digital surface. This is what a €30,000 Milanese agency would deliver; it cost a fraction of that.
Jungle green (#1a2e1a) background with gold (#c9a84c) accents — the exact colour of afternoon light filtering through Balinese rice terraces. Twelve CSS keyframe particles drift up the hero like fireflies at dusk. Cormorant Garamond at generous letter-spacing does what no other typeface can: it makes you feel like you're reading a private travel journal, not a booking page.
Barlow Condensed at 800 weight, scaled to 180px on desktop, with a dot-grid background pattern. GSAP entrance animations run at 0.3s — deliberately twice as fast as standard — because this brand has no time for elegance. The timetable is a hand-rolled CSS grid, Monday through Saturday, because using a plugin for something this simple would be wrong. No mirrors. No machines. No softness.
